Medyx.ai is on a mission to accelerate innovation in medical imaging by bringing cutting-edge AI technologies to more healthcare organizations. Medyx.ai is building an ultra-secure SaaS platform for medical image de-identification and integration with AI service providers, enabling healthcare organizations to adopt AI innovations while maintaining compliance and data security.

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our SaaS platform. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful technology in a fast-paced startup environment, focusing on high-performing and scalable backend systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs for our SaaS platform using Python and possibly Golang.
  • Implement robust, high-performing software systems optimized for cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with the software architect and frontend team to define and implement technical solutions.
  • Develop and optimize database schemas and queries for efficient data handling.
  • Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards, including HIPAA, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type II.
  • Integrate with third-party services, including AI/ML providers and medical imaging systems.
  • Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure best practices for software development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability issues.
  • Stay current with advancements in cloud technologies, medical imaging standards, and software development practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in backend development with a strong command of Python.
  • Familiarity with Golang or willingness to learn it as a secondary language.
  • Proven track record of developing scalable and high-performance software systems in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive data in compliance with standards like HIPAA.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with medical standards like DICOM and knowledge of healthcare regulations.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and their integration into SaaS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous programming.
